My frugal list for this week 11/16/14

We went to the Salvation Army on Saturday and I bought some boots for winter for $10.00.   Just in time seems like with this cold and  snow we are receiving.  They had a toy sale on the same day but it seems as though the prices for the toys were a little high.   My daughter bought a huge bag of baby clothes (which included two snowsuits for the baby) for $15.00.  So we feel like we got some deals.

I cut my bangs this week.  That's about all the hair cutting I can do.  To save money,  I go once a year to my favorite hair salon then go to a cheaper one the rest of the time.  They just follow the layers then and it looks the same.

My husband took a trip to Kentucky to see relatives.  They went as a group -his cousin, nephew, and brother.  Split the costs of gas and came back with money which is always a plus!

Went to Kroger and bought some T.V. dinners to last the youngest daughter and I so I would also have a break (on sale for $1.79 this week at Kroger).   I love to cook but it's always nice to take a break and read to my heart's content.

I made ornaments this week out of things I already had.   I love to go to garage or estate sales and buy the sewing notions.  They come in handy for things like this.  The pattern for the baby onesie ornament is here at Skip to My Lou.

The sides from the dinner today (Sunday) came out of the freezer.   They included corn I froze this past summer when we got a dozen ears of corn for $1.50, mustard greens we got from the farmers market last week and cooked before it went bad, and  cornbread they we had leftover from a dinner two weeks ago.

My two best grocery bills this week were, the free friday download from Kroger for the Hillshire Farm Natural deli meat and frozen ground turkey from Aldi's for $1.89.   So far I've put turkey in Sloppy Joe's and Spaghetti and no one as noticed.

Made enough Swagbucks to get a $5 Amazon card this week.
