My Frugal Ways this Past Week 4/12/15

My frugal ways this Past Week 4/12/15

After reading the comments left for me about making dish scrubbie's I decided to try to make some out of vegetable net bags.   I  didn't quite have enough so I used the leftover netting I bought for the other side.   Turned out quite well.   I'm still using the first one I made so they last quite awhile.

A great bargain for me this week at a estate sale was a bag of yarn for $6.00.  This takes the cost of craft making way down.   There were 8 full skeins of regular yarn and 3 skeins of lamb's wool. I'm trying to crochet socks with the wool.   This is definitely a learning experience for me but I guess you never know if you can do it till you try.

My husband also found tools that he said were quite a bargain.   They seemed willing to negotiate so we will look for their company again when we go to estate sales.

I was greatly surprised this year when I defrosted the freezer.  The only thing I threw away were some hamburger buns ..they had some how had gotten shoved to the back.   I believe our No Spend January helped me with keeping it organized and using it up before it got old.

I made many meals made with our ham from Easter including the pizza I made for today.   I was also able to freeze the bone for beans later on and freeze enough chopped ham for a meal of omelette's in the future.

I bought Easter basket fillers for our granddaughter for next year at Target for 70 percent off.   I did this last year and I didn't have to buy a thing this year except a chocolate bunny for their baskets.   I'm still looking for a few things for our grandson.

I bought four dish towels on sale at Joanne's that were in the 70 % off  Easter deal.   With butterflies on them they didn't look like Easter towels, so I will be able to use them for present's for Mother's day and a couple for Christmas.

I downloaded a couple of free kindle books this week.

Caught up on all the rewards on Friday night and Saturday morning that I could.   You can see them here (the books may not be free any longer).

What ways have you saved this week?
