Book Review: The Christmas Cradle by Charlotte Hubbard

 The Christmas Cradle

The Christmas Cradle (Seasons of the Heart Book 6)

From Amazon:

For the peaceful town of Willow Ridge, November presents an early holiday surprise. Stranded in the snow, 18-year-old Lena Esh and her boyfriend Josiah Witmer need more than a place to stay for the night. Lena defied her strict family and their judgmental beliefs to run away with Josiah and have his baby. But she's starting to wonder if he can prove as responsible as he is passionate. And she isn't sure how—or if—they can ever find a place to truly call home.

Expecting their own miracle baby, Miriam and Ben Hooley rally the town to help the young couple, and Lena draws strength from their unexpected support. Though trouble may come calling, in this season of joyous rebirth, a little child will lead them. And two couples will see their dreams of forever family come true . .

My thoughts:

The more I read The Christmas Cradle the more I loved this story!   It just kept getting better page after page.  I was totally immersed with Charlotte Hubbard's writing that gave me suspense, christian beliefs, romance, and home values all in one wonderful book.

Mariam. my favorite character, gives everything she has within her to help others.  She never gives up ..on anyone.  She goes behind the call of duty and makes sure no one is left out in the cold.   It makes me think more about being more hospitable and helping others more.  We all need to reach out like Mariam.   If nothing else praying for others when there is nothing else you can do.

This book can stand alone even though it was book 6 of the series.  I have to admit though at times I became a little lost as to who was who. All were quickly explained and I got the hang of it.

Charlotte Hubbard didn't disappoint when she included recipes at the end of her book.  I think I would have cried if I didn't know the recipe for the Chocolate Bread mentioned so many times in the book. Looking in my cupboards I was so disappointed to not have all the ingredients.  Coming in second, the angel biscuits were a wonderful delight!

This book was given to me by Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
