My Frugal Ways This Past Week 8/2/15

Deer in the road at preserve

My youngest daughter and I  went walking in our local nature preserve last night (free).  It was a nice cool Michigan night and the wildlife was out.  They have miles of trails to get lost on!   Yes we did! Thank goodness they have maps too!

It's very quiet and peaceful.   After sleeping soundly last night I know we will be doing this more often.

We were able to wash and vacuum the van that we took to Tennessee for free.  We have a loyalty card at our neighborhood car wash and after the 10th paid wash you get a free one. They always give you a token for the vacuum when you buy a wash. We just set them aside for when we have time for a cleaning session.

I earned enough points to qualify for a $5.00 Target Gift Card with Swagbucks.   I now have three put aside for Christmas.

Received a rebate from Menards that I'm also saving back for Christmas.

I was blessed with a bowl of mulberries from a friend.  I used them for syrup on my french toast, in my yogurt, and just enjoyed the rest of them.   They are very sweet and no sweetener was needed.

This past week I harvested green beans, cabbage, zucchini, cucumbers, green and banana peppers from the garden.  I was able to use them in multiple dishes for home and for church.  I love having a side of cucumbers with sliced tomatoes for dinner.   I was also able to bless a few people with some produce this past week.

Almost forgot:  After finding out that my oldest daughters Kroger account was accidentally linked to mine they gave me extra fuel points.   I was given 65 cents off per gallon for this month and we filled the van.   They also gave us 25 cents off per gallon for last month and we used it to fill the car.   Very nice and I was able to save a lot!

What ways have you saved money this week?
