My Menu this Past Week 8/15/15

We've been canning like crazy this past week.   Easy, and simple dinners seemed to fit our days better.   What makes them delicious are the fresh vegetables from the garden.

My husband and I took some time though for the annual cruise for Back to the Bricks in Flint MI.   It was so fun just relaxing and watching the unique old cars go by.

We saw some great looking trucks and just enjoyed spending time with each other.

Now on to what was on the menu last week:

Our menu changes frequently in my home with use of leftovers, garden produce, or special occasions that come up. With that in mind I have decided to tell you what we have had this past week instead of what I have planned ahead.

Sunday            We ate a pizza out.   After all the canning last week I declared the kitchen closed for cleaning.   I windex, mopped floors, washed cabinets, and sinks till the whole kitchen shined. We paid $20 and it tasted wonderful!

Monday           Rustic Tomato Tart  (something like a pizza -I used approximately 6 tomatoes)

Tuesday          Grilled hot dogs and chicken

Wednesday     Chicken fajitas

Thursday        Leftovers (four hot dogs leftover and 2 chicken           fajitas)- perfect for canning day

Friday             Green Beans, fried bologna sandwiches, sliced
tomatoes.  (picked a bushel of beans that morning)

Saturday         Made Hamburger Stew this morning in the crockpot
packed with vegetables from the garden!  I did replace the hamburger with ground turkey.  They will never notice.

Breakfasts included, omelettes, oatmeal, chocolate gravy, fried eggs and sliced tomatoes.
